Talking in song
At family gatherings my brother tends to talk in song titles and lyrics. Being a musical family it gets pretty competitive. We were all sitting around the table. I was discussing how long it took me to stir the gravy and how you just needed a Slow hand (Conway Twitty) to make it just right. Then my dad commented that he was a Meat and Potato Man (Alan Jackson). After tasting the lumpy liquid fat my brother and me insulted my mama's Good brown gravy (Joe Diffie song). She replied with Your no good, your no good, baby your no good (Linda Ronstadt). I then said Your a jerk (Newz Boys). It was then the family paused and looked at me in a peculiar glare. I explained it was a rap song. My brother turned beside me, shook his head and said Come on Val, I thought you were A little more country than that." (Easton Corbin)
